Point Of Your Perceived Limitation

Have you ever heard about a point of our perceived limitation? Even if you never heard about it, you probably experienced it. Just think about how often you tell yourself these four “beautiful” words: “I can’t do that”…

So here you are in my class and I ask you to do a specific exercise. “You want me to do what?” (You don’t even have to say it out loud; your facial expression says it all). Mind you – I know you’re able to do what is asked of you, otherwise I wouldn’t be asking 🙂

But there you are at your point of perceived limitation. In this case you limit yourself entirely but saying “I’m not able to do what you’re asking me to; it’s too difficult therefore I won’t do it”. Your mind is a very powerful thing, you know. So guess what? You body listens to it! Of course now you’re all stressed out, too self-conscious, in panic mode – you won’t be able to move a muscle!

But if you always stop at the point of your perceived limitation without pushing yourself further, you’ll never go past it – YOU WILL NEVER IMPROVE. And non-improvement is not quite what we are looking for in a dance class, is it?
